(under the direction of Prof. Pei-Quan Yang) degrees from the school of Pharmacy at West China University of Medical Sciences in 1991 and 1998 respectively. In July 2001 upon completion of her Ph.D. program under the guidance of Prof. Feng-Peng Wang in the Department of Chemistry of Medicinal natural Products in the West China School of Pharmacy at Sichuan University, Dr. Chen was appointed as a lecturer in Sichuan University and was directly promoted to a full Professor in July 2003. Dr. Chen has received a few awards, including Award for Top 100 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in 2003 (the National Evaluation Institute of Degrees and Grade Education in China) and the First Class Prize of the Nature and Science of Chinese Advance Education (the Education Ministry of China, 2002).
