About the Group

Dr. Kingston's research in Bioorganic and Natural Products Chemistry is currently divided into three separate areas:

Anticancer drug discovery as part of a National Cooperative Drug Discovery Group (NCDDG)

Anticancer, antimalarial, and CNS-active drug discovery as part of an International Cooperative Biodiversity Group (ICBG) (See also MOBOT ICBG.)

Synthesis and Biological Studies of Tubulin-Interactive Drugs

The NCDDG and ICBG groups are natural product isolation groups, and the Synthesis group works with Taxol and other drugs to synthesize new, effective cancer drugs.

Employment Application Process
Applications for membership in the Kingston Group from both potential graduate students and postdoctural associates are welcome. Interested undergraduate students considering graduate study at Virginia Tech should apply directly through the Chemistry Department Web Site.
